About the Conference


THEME – “SMART AND SUSTAINABLE SYSTEMS – DECADE AHEAD”

The Agenda 2030 for sustainable development (exactly a decade from now) is a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity. Science, Technology and Innovation plays a vital role in realising sustainable development goals and in implementation of various policies at local, national and international level. The theme of the conference is aligned with the Agenda 2030 and philosophy of IEEE – Advancing Technology for Humanity. The objective of the conference is to provide a platform for scientific and engineering community to discuss research outcomes of academicians, researchers, industry practitioners, policy makers and government authorities from India and abroad. The proposed tracks in the conference cover frontier areas of technology for meeting sustainable development goals that aim to achieve economic growth, social equity and environment protection.

IEEE LOGO

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers is a professional association with its corporate office in New York City and its operations centre in Piscataway, New Jersey. It was formed in 1963 from the amalgamation of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers and the Institute of Radio Engineers. Today, it is the world's largest association of technical professionals with more than 400,000 members in chapters around the world. Its objectives are the educational and technical advancement of electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering and allied disciplines.

IEEE India Council

IEEE LOGOIEEE India Council is the umbrella organisation which coordinates IEEE activities in India. Its primary aim is to assist and coordinate the activities of local “Sections”, in order to benefit mutually, and avoid duplication of effort and resources. IEEE India Council was established on 20th May 1976 and is one of the five councils in the Asia Pacific Region (Region #10 of IEEE).

IEEE Vizag Bay Sub-Section

IEEE LOGOIEEE Vizag Bay Sub-Section is established in 2011 to cater to the needs and promote the IEEE activities in coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh. This Sub-Section is a part of the IEEE Hyderabad Section and there are 1,456 members as of January 2020 in this sub-section area. The sub-section is vibrant and, in the past, the sub-section organized more than 40 events each year. In 2019, the Sub-Section organized an International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Green Technology (ICISGT) (a biannual conference) in association with IEEE Hyderabad Section. Vizag Bay Sub-Section has applied for elevation to the Full Section to IEEE.



Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering (Autonomous)

IEEE LOGOGayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering, established in 1996, is an autonomous institute offering technical education in seven B.Tech. programs and nine M. Tech and MCA program with a total intake of 1386. The institution is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University, Kakinada and is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education, India. The institute is accredited twice by National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) with ‘A’ grade and with a CGPA of 3.47/4.0. All the B.Tech. Programs have been accredited thrice by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), India. The institute is granted the Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP-II) of the World Bank to enhance PG education and demand-driven research and innovation. Outcome-Based Education with a choice-based credit system is being implemented in the college. The students actively participate in various programs organized by different professional bodies and social organizations. IEEE student branch in the campus is very active and conduct 10-12 programs every year. Majority of the faculty are professional members of various technical bodies including IEEE. The institution has been making sincere efforts in promoting sustainable practices and thinking among the students and the teaching fraternity. As part of this, a 100 kWp on-grid Solar PV system and a 100 kWp hybrid wind-solar off-grid plant with battery energy storage have been installed on the campus to meet the partial energy needs of the campus.
